For fun maybe but there's been like two 2 loss national champs in the last 80 years and neither of them were ranked in the teens at the end of the season.
Michigan is going to get steamrolled. If Nick Saban coached this year's Ohio State team Michigan loses that game by 30. Not many players on Michigan could start for OSU.
That’s a wild take considering that Michigan has beaten Ohio State by a combined score of 117-74 over the last three years.
You guys will arguing over which team with 2 losses will be left out next year. There will always be a debate.

Agree, we'll still find something to debate and argue about! Plus there's still the seeding with byes and home field advantage, though obviously less impactful than simply being in or out.
But, man, thank God we are expanding the playoff next year. I always thought 12 teams was too many, but we probably need that many to put the debate to rest once and for all.
If Alabama gets in, there are going to be a lot of miffed college football fans, myself included.
A healthy Alabama team should have lost a week ago to Auburn, a team which got crushed by New Mexico State. FSU with a starting QB who is expected to be available to play gets left out because he is "currently" injured, never mind FSU used a 3rd string QB and still managed to go undefeated.
"Injury" is no way to justify Alabama getting in. "Precedence" that an SEC team must always get in is a joke. This decision is all about political lobbying pressure from ESPN to the CFP committee. Expect ESPN to take care of CFP committee members who voted for Alabama (guests on ESPN at over $100,000 per appearance). ESPN will easily make any CFP committee future expenditures up on SEC broadcasting revenues (more ads will be sold. < < This is exactly what the CFP committee proved about itself . . . they are for sale.
Since you're so sure Bama shouldn't be in there, you'll be betting actual money that Michigan will beat them, won't you?
Having said all of this, it’s hard to see Bama losing now. The committee wants the Bama TX rematch.
Michigan will beat Alabama. The Wolverines laid an egg in each of their first round games of the CFP the past two years, so they’re due to come up big. And they will.
Did you see at their party how excited they were to get to play Bama? That should tell you everything you need to know. Everybody says they want Bama until they actually GET Bama.
Bama took Georgia's spot in the final four via a first round victory. Y'all know the SEC championship game has been designated as a play in game, right?
Texas, on the other hand, was inexplicably awarded FSU's rightful spot in the final four.

Ryan Day is an awful play caller/gameday coach.
Last year Michigan lost to TCU giving up 51 points in the game. TCU scored 1 time against Georgia. Two years ago Michigan got blown out by Georgia and three years ago Michigan got blown out by Alabama. Michigan is awful against top tier teams.

I’m not talking about their past games against TCU, Georgia, or Alabama. I’m talking about your assertion that not many players on Michigan could start for OSU. You’re suggesting Michigan doesn’t have talented players, which is ignorant. Michigan had more players drafted in the NFL this year than Ohio State, and they’re expected to have even more players drafted in 2024.

That's my opinion anyway. Roll Tide!
Bro, you do realize Bama lost to TX at home in Tuscaloosa, right, a notoriously hard place to win? Yes, I know Bama has progressed since then but the same could be said about many teams.
You also realize Bama beat exactly nobody outside of their conference, compared to FSU’s win over LSU at a neutral site?
I’m not saying the SEC winner didn’t deserve to be in, but it’s not as clear cut as you make it sound. The fourth and final spot always was between FSU and Bama.

They beat OSU 3 years straight. So they got something right. There is no Georgia or Bama of old this year. Pretty good top 4 all around.
As impressive as Michigan's horde of 5th and 6th round draftees is Michigan doesn't compare to OSU in the draft.
OSU has 40 1st round picks since 2000 Michigan has 19.
I didn't say Michigan didn't have any talent I said not many Michigan players would start for OSU.
Ohio State had 3 first round picks last year. Michigan had 1.
“Starters” is not analogous to “1st round draft pick”.
You’re not very good at this.
It's not just the 1st round it's all the rounds. OSU historically has way more NFL draft picks than Michigan does because OSU usually has better talent.
My point was OSU is a more talented team than Michigan this year.
OSU lost the game because it has a terrible coach.

The common theme in those 3 years is Ryan Day.
We have no idea how good Michigan is compared to Alabama or Georgia. I'm going to go with history since Michigan sucked against them last year and Michigan hasn't gotten any better.

Players are leaving OSU en masse. They are finally getting hip to the toxic OSU fan culture. If you have a toxic culture with borderline players and players that are not even on campus, the risk is everything goes south when times get a little tough. OSU lost one game to a better team by a score and the whole of the fan base turned on them. I dare anyone to go to an OSU game, its like a prison release program (Only Philly is worse). That's what Sweatervest and Urban Liar sowed. Fla blew up after Pervin Liar left there as well.
Between Nov. 30 and Monday, 12 scholarship Buckeyes entered the transfer portal: Omari Abor Cam Martinez Victor Cutler Jr. Evan Pryor Ryan Turner Parker Lewis Jyaire Brown Kye Stokes Kyle McCord Jakob James Reid Carrico Julian Fleming

Wrong. Ryan day was there before, right next to Pervin Liar. The suckeyes play calling was fine. The ran the ball 11 times in one drive and scored. They said Marvin Harrison needed to have a good game...he did. It came down to one play and against a much better defense in Michigan, the game can go either way. You guys are hating on Day because your run is over with. John Cooper was great coach, but he couldn't beat Mich...ever. It happens. Mich didn't fire Harbaugh after he lost mutiple times to OSU.
