Last spring as a 10th grader, she won the girls mile at the Brooks PR Invitational in a 2023 leading 4:35.69 before putting up US 10th-grade record to capture to 2-mile crown at Nike Outdoor Nationals in 9:54.38.
In xc this year, she put up the #1 Tully Runners speed rating this year at Woodbridge. It doesn't look like she ran NXN regional. Anyone know what she's up to?
Yesterday was the Uhsaa state cross-country race. Going into the race, the Timpview girl’s team was ranked number one. With star junior Jane Hedengren back from a stress fracture injury, hopes were high. This being her second...
Jane Hedengren missed about a month of running before her state meet because of what she said was a stress fracture. After she ran her state meet on October 24 she said that she might skip NXR and focus on getting ready for track.
Some people have speculated that she just wants to get one more week of training in and she will enter Foot Locker West Regionals on Saturday, Dec 2, but that is pure speculation and I doubt it will happen. (Background info - Hedengren said at Woodbridge that the only cross country national championship she was interested in was NXN, not Foot Locker, and she has done nothing since then that would indicate she has changed her mind about that.)
Also, while Hedengren did have the highest speed rating in the country right after Woodbridge, she is now down to number 5 on the national list.
I will confess that I haven't read all 12.7 million posts on letsrun. I have now learned from another thread she is injured. I tried a google search for the last month but didn't see anything. i shold have limited the search to letsrun as it says it on this page:
