4:22 first mile for men.
Anyone know why there aren't normally any top Kenyans/Ethiopians in this race? Is it just time of year? Everyone's gone back home as there aren't any other road races in recent weeks/months?
It’s an American holiday, Rojo. The focus should be on Americans.
Mantz wins king of the hills competition at mile 2 and gets an extra $1,000 if he ends up top 10.
4:51 2nd mile (way uphill)
Men's lead pack of 6.

Update: Here is a better video of the men's finishing battle.
Every year Kelati looks like a lock for U.S. teams at this race. The event suits her perfectly, and for whatever reason she’s always really clicking in November.
I just finished watching the Fox61 live stream and it was refreshing to watch a road race being covered as a serious athletic event. OK, there were a few pre-race fluff pieces, but also some serious pre-race commentary about the race favorites, their strengths and weaknesses. The men's and women's races themselves were covered in their entirety with no fluff. It wasn't perfect--the commentators took a long time to figure out who was leading the men's race, and it would have been nice to have seen some of the women behind Kelati. But all in all, a nice job. I understand it's easier to cover a 23-minute race without resorting to filler than a marathon, but it would be great if the WMMs could be covered like this.
1-Why do we use these English posh accented announcers when there are so many others?
2- why did puma load up this holiday race, as if it’s the world championships; nothing in chapel Hill to jog in?
She looked so strong. What happened to Rodenfels?
The announcer said that Kelati was ill during the USATF 5k championships a few weeks ago, I wonder what happened there. She looked amazing today. I think she has been dealing with some injury issues as well this year.
The lead women’s vehicle needs to drop back and show what’s going on behind Kelati. They can easily catch back up. The commentators are working off the video and it doesn’t help that the camera every year bounces so much it’s difficult to make out the numbers. Any race of this magnitude should have multiple mats to give us a top ten and immediate results. Even our national championships don’t take advantage of the latest tech and it should be a minimum requirement.
1) Ian Brooks has been announcing track and field / road races for many years. Not many do it better than Ian, so it's great to have him at Manchester.
2) Why not? Manchester is a professional race that offers good prize money, athlete support, and a suitable race distance for athletes preparing for indoors. Makes a lot of sense to me...
Does anyone know where to find posted results for this race?
stop with these unreasonable request?
