I actually got… teary-eyed?? Watching their race and watching Coach Genes’ interview. What they accomplished is incredible.
One of their top runners out with injury, 2 other top runners injured all season, and their star runner having a lackluster (for her) day… and they still manage to win by 1 point. Every odd stacked against them.

As a NC State graduate and fan, the team title means so much to me since we have such trouble in all the other major sports. So much heartbreak since the 90s especially. Feels amazing to be national champions in something.
Been rooting for Tuohy of course but the individual title is secondary interest, its been interesting to see so many folks so invested in the Tuohy vs Valby drama rather than the team title.
Yea, I'm confused by this. I knew there were Tuohy haters but I don't get the NC State hate.
Not sure I would equate a downvote to hate?
It isn't literal. Like when people say the term "haters". They don't mean it literally. It more means someone who takes time to read a thread and posts they dislike and then bother to waste the time to do a mouse click to visually express their disinterest to the poster and others in the thread.
Really hope you aren’t an actual coach. Tuohy running sick, throwing up on the course, in the medical tent after, but still doing her part in the race to help her team stay in it? This is not the definition of choking. Get help.
I also want to shout out the Men's team for once again over performing and saving their best for nationals. Not a great season but an encouraging finish.
Tuohy did not have it, but still had 3rd fastest final K to move up a spot. Tyynismaa and Bush both finished real strong while Stephens held on for dear life. Valby was hurting as she had only 7th fastest final K.

Yeah, ignorant take. KT had several athletes around her in the chute. If she lets up 1% they lose. She still won it for them.
One of my teammates mentioned this on long run last week. Anybody notice Tuohys performances start to slide since she started posting with a boyfriend? first time was mid spring… awful outdoors and now a horrific XC. Interesting to say the least.
