Mary Lou Retton was earning a big income for 20--plus years after her Olympic medals. Her husband was a successful real estate developer for many years. They were living in a $8 million dollar house not too long ago. Why does she not have health insurance - surely she can afford it. Why are her daughters soliciting for money for the GoFundMe page? They surely have plenty of money. if she had no money she could have gone Obamacare. But she had serious money. What the F are her daughters doing?

I forgot to say they are protecting their nest egg.

When all the abuse regarding Larry Nassar and the Karolyi ranch was being uncovered, MLR defended USAG ("a couple bad apples, but we don't need systemic change" type stance) and met with Congress to lobby against a bill that would have imposed more stringent protections against sexual predators in sports. Yeah, a lot of people side-eye her due to her conservative activism, but the distrust and disfavor surrounding her goes deeper than politics.

I believe that she is fighting the disease they say she's fighting. I hope she pulls through. But if she passes unfortunately, I can live with myself for wanting her to pull through. Those of you who are being skeptical because #notyourmoney will need some solace besides your cult BAH-bulls in order to rest peacefully.

I think this is a scam. Retired ICU Nurse. Patients don’t go from ventilator dependent to home in a day or so. It is difficult to wean patients off the ventilator. This so called rare pneumonia is caused by what organism? Story changes to jack everyone around to drum up more money.

I kind of agree with this. We kept hearing how "dire" her situation was and how she could not breathe on her own, and, lo and behold, off she goes to her home. Like none worse for the wear.
