Yes and I coach HS XC earning $97K with my teaching and coaching. My coaching salary is $4K. Few D1 coaches earn $100K. But if you want to add in other jobs, pay is unlimited.
Yesterday on Instagram Brosnan did a Q and A and unsurprisingly a lot of the questions were about what’s next?
Most interesting answers were: not going to coach HS again, will soon announce his new gig and he is staying on the West Coast.

Big Bear (7,000’ +), year round, pro caliber facility training camp/team
Except, Big Bear is a trash training location. Of all the places with altitude and the ability to drop down for workouts, Big Bear is objectively probably the worst option.

I know one coach/ teacher that makes $110k. I know another one makes $150k. Both successful, are tenured, and will retire with a 6-figure pension.
They make more than a lot of coaches that are at the 4 year level. You must be in high school. It’s okay, most people don’t know the hidden luxuries and where to go. They both make more than my old coach who would coach us to make NCAA nats every year.

We are located on the same property as a community college. We share athletic facilities. The head track/XC coach earns $22K. He is an engineer during the day.

You missed the point of me pointing out coaches salaries I know of. There seemed to be a diss on juco coaches (don’t know if they were or just dissing brosnan). The point I was making is that those juco coaches who are ALSO faculty are making a decent living, much better than a lot of 4 year coaches, and will retire with fat pensions. JUCO can be a great opportunity for those who have the connections.
I put respect words towards Brosnan because he was in a situation nobody else has been in at the high school level, and there should be respect put towards that program and what they did to inspire kids to run faster. But I’m aware of many D1 coaches who don’t like brosnan. I’m not a fanboy of him though. You got that wrong, he needs to chill out with his forehead rolls.
I’m gonna take a guess and say you’ve never coaches kids to run faster than he has, nor run programs as successful as he has. I for sure haven’t (I don’t coach).
My guess: he’s going to coach the Big Bear Track Club, he’s just trying to secure some sort of sponsorship for it, hence all the time being spent in Portland. He will then try and attract a few pros to join. He will also run camps on the side

To elaborate, the BBear property he now owns has luck ingredients like Newbury Park HS he coached. Serious elevation with short winter, LA, airports close, dry side of lake (lower fire threat), positive climate change rainfall, south exposure - solar & …. not sure why he has got this luck thing going cuz he is kind of an a**, but he has paid some hard core dues.
