Announced on IG she's leaving her coach and moving to Texas:
"After 19 years, John Blackie and I have ended our coach-athlete partnership.
My life changed by meeting him and I will be forever grateful to him. HIs intellect, patience and dedication has taken me from an energetic eight year old to a World Champion; with over twenty international medals and many Olympic, World, Commonwealth and European finals.
John and I will, of course, remain close friends.
Thank you to John and thank you to all of my team in London whose talents and hard work have helped me realise so many dreams to date.
My next chapter will be led by Edrick Floreal based out of Austin, Texas.
I'm very excited to join his talented training group as we head to Paris 2024.
Sending lots of love,
D <3"
Apart from her i60m she hadn't set a new PR since 2019 Doha World Champs [10.83 & 21.88], and whilst she has been right thereabouts her 100m PR despite a number of injuries, I can imagine the frustration at not progressing for a number of years now especially with new faces coming through like Sha'Carri - if you're running 10.85+ you're not really in it when others are running 10.75 to 10.6X.
2020 - X & X
2021 - 10.87 & 22.04
2022 - 10.83(=) & 21.96
2023 - 10.85 & 22.23
Thoughts? I imagine it must've been a really tough decision when you've been with that coach your entire life, and while I don't know how different it is for sprint coaching, I'd question if this is enough time before Paris to get settled in?
