It would have made more sense if they'd hired this guy to be Jenna Wrieden's assistant.

Adam Culpepper......never really coached anyone, was a horrible hire.

Jack Mullaney......has never coached anyone, sorry but is another horrible hire.

He didn't even run in college.....and has spent the last 5-6 years calling recruits because Rob Conner doesn't want to. That is the extent of this dude's experience.

Ben Rosario is/was a fantastic coach, but has made some tragic decisions with who he hires. Why not name Jenna the head coach and hire this guy as her gopher?

Is this the guy who Portland State hired and then backed out of that job this summer only to return to UP and then up and quit that program to go to NAZ Elite?

The “modern athlete,” as Rosario called it, is different than an athlete from 20 years ago. “It’s not, ‘Hey, coach, tell me what to do and I’ll do it,’” he said. “People like to be involved. They like to sit down and have conversations with their coach, [be] treated almost like a peer. Jack has that ability.”

You can’t make the Ben Rosario schtick up. I too remember the early 2000’s when athletes weren’t interested in athlete-centered coaching. (sarc)

Who is Adam Culpepper?

it seems like everyone likes Jenna Wreiden, but I don't think she wants the job. i think her main focus is coaching the women (Krissy Gear, Abby Nichols, Katie Wasserman) every training video they post has the 4 of them working together. seems to be working well.

Same guy... one hell of a hire... I wouldn't be surprised if NAZ athletes start looking for private coaches.

Jenna Wrieden has an amazing background AZ State Queens high point app state Louisville and has done such a good job, especially since Culpepper was only on site 3 days a week perhaps she didn't apply who knows but if so what a slap in the face by Ben R and M McManus

Read everything Ben puts out. Jenna had the job if she wanted it. Don't know why she wouldn't have, but apparently she expected them to get somebody else in addition to her. You have to realize she talks to NAZ management all the time. As in, literally daily to Ben.

There is no possibility that this happened: Ben hasn't seen her since Culp booked. Hoka management doesn't know who she is. She stepped right into Culp's job, but nobody really realized that. She figured she was in line for the position and assumed (because there's little or no direct communication with anybody) that everyone else was thinking the same. She was making plans based on the assumption of promotion, then suddenly (much to her surprise and without warning).... some random Nike-obsessed non-runner shows up!

THIS IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED. She was not turned down for a job she was not attempting to get. Ben knew EXACTLY what she was thinking, what she wanted, and what she expected Hoka to do.

Personally, I think the majority of our best coaches are at the college level. Their current roster were coached by some really heavy hitters. Wetmore, Smith, Franklin, etc. Needs to do a better job then these folks

its not rocket science, its running. coaching is mostly about personality and relatability.
