Rikkyo University coach Yuichiro Ueno, a married father of 3, has been fired after a magazine in Japan followed him around for a few days and busted him in the midst of an affair. They've got photos showing him and his athlete together on multiple occasions and they report the duo spent "tens of minutes back seat time" in the parking lot of a convenience store.
They've even got photos of them making out!!

Coaches having affairs with their athletes is not a good thing, but someone actually stalking them to find evidence tells me that they have solved all the big problems in Japan.
Ueno coaches male runners (who are trying to qualify for the Hakone Ekiden this weekend), so his affair most likely isn't an athlete herself but a member of the supporting staff
Sad story though, especially if you read the comments of his wife who said that she suspected there is something going on because he neglected her and their children since the beginning of the year. I always thought that Ueno is kind of cool because besides coaching he still sometimes is active as an athlete himself, having run 13:32 this year and probably still being faster than all of his students
Tabloids are less likely to follow college track coaches in the US, because they are not celebrities like the coaches in Japan. So they are less likely to get busted.

Should tabloids follow all university employees? Probably more philosophy and literature professors sleeping with their students than track coaches.

Yes. She’s fat. No way she runs. Maybe she jogs. He looks happy, but I feel bad for his family.

Yuichiro Ueno is back in the sport already. According to Hochi News (as translated by Brett Larner), after he was fired from his job, he returned to running seriously. He ran 13:32 in May - his fastest time since 2011 (his pb is 13:21 from 2007) and multiple corporate teams made him offers to come back as a pro runner at age 38. He's now signed a new deal.
The dude is talented. If you use bing translate to read the original article in Japanese, I noticed it's got a bio below the article with his career highlights. The dude ran ran 28:27.39 for 10,000.
