Kipchoge hasn't posted any congratulations about how a new WR inspires him to be even more unlimited. So this fellow Kenyan posted for him:
Dear Kenyans don't forget I ran marathon under 2 hours and am proud of that, Kiptum isn't better than me, am almost 40yrs and am better than him at 23yrs. You can't force me to congratulate him for that. No way pic.twitter.com/6YSilSIfb1
Kipchoge is a fraud. People love talking about how great of a guy he is but he’s a d*ck. Acted like a child after getting embarrassed in Boston. No respect for the superior Kiptum. Kipchoge is the most obvious doper of all time
Global Sports gives a f***. The people that actually run his social media.
I'd be shocked if Eliud even has access to his own social channels. You can already see the acconut is managed out of the Netherlands. And GS isn't going to congratulate an athlete that isn't their own. Even if it aligns with Eliud's persona.
Same with Faith. No mention of congratulations on her 5K WR being broken because it was done by an athlete that wasn't of GC and that account is also ran out of Netherlands.
But at the end of the day - that's wrongs with this f***en sport. People expect stupid crap like that. Michael Jordan isn't going to congratulate Magic Johnson or Larry Bird publicly. All that crap comes after retirement.
Kipchoge is worried that when asked for a response to his congratulations, Kiptum will switch to Norwegian and say, “yeah, many people are happy about my performance”.
Not normally into this kind of gossip, but it does seem strange. I mean even Bekele congratulated Cheptegei after he broke his 5k/10k WRs (which put an end to his dream of holding 5k,10k and marathon WRs simultaneously), and we know Bekele is someone with high pride.
He removed 2:01:09 WR from his Instagram bio, but left 1:59:40. He didn't even keep the 2:01:09 time as a PB on the bio.
The first time Kipchoge was asked if he was worried about Kiptum, after Valencia, what did he say? "I'm not worried, that's great he's run 2:01. I've done it twice." So what happens when Kiptum runs 2:01 again and seems capable of breaking 2 hours? Kipchoge had to point out "he'd always be the second person to break 2, I was the first."
Kipchoge has this reputation of being a humble competitor with great sportsmanship, but it's easy to act like that when you win. When he's lost, he's blamed a clogged ear one time, and a vague leg injury the next time (without acknowledging the hills might have gotten to him). And when his status as the best marathoner is challenged, he makes sure to highlight his accomplishments as being more impressive. He's been subtle, but every step of the way he's made petty attempts to one-up Kiptum and now he has less ground to stand on.
There's no doubting Kipchoge's greatness on the roads, but his actions this past year make me think he's a bit of a sore loser who isn't as humble as people want him to be.

Why are you all whining that EK isn't the straight-laced, atta-boy, good-attitude, shake-hands, humble sportsman you thought? We don't need that.
He's fake humble, most people are not a fan of people that do not present themselves truthfully. Nobody in this trend except you cares about how he chooses to present himself as long as he is honest.
Worth noting that Kipchoge's (genuine) Instagram account removed the 'WR' title from the caption, and replaced it with his sub-2 time. He hasn't made a post on it since 2022. Awkward.
