Look I love Faith and enjoy watching her compete and dominate the 1500 but until she gets on the roads and puts down a 1:04/2:12.. Sifan is the GOAT. Faith is the best on the track but in terms of range… no.
And she's done the range within the same year. She hasn't exclusively moved to the marathon. It's hard to put in perspective how good she is without following what she's done in each year.
Faith Kipyegon is impressive but only faster than Hassan in 3 distances (1500, mile, 5000). Hassan also has more championship medals and 2 world major marathons. The most impressive about Hassan is her crazy range (7th fastest 1500 and 2nd fastest marathon) which in my opinion, combined with her medals, makes her the GOAT. Remember only 6/7 weeks ago Hassan was competing at the WC in Budapest in 3 distances.

She spreads herself too thin among the distances, which make it near to impossible to also be at a WR level for each distance. Today she ran the 2nd fastest marathon of all time with only 6 weeks of dedicated preparation after Budapest. She likes the variety. If she wants a WR she definitely can get it.

She needs to if she wants a valid GOAT application. If you are in your prime and not the world record holder in a major championship event, you are by definition not the GOAT.
