Rupp going to drop the field, yep he is.
More DNFs than Ben Parkes.
consistent training for months is a good sign. the need for form changes... i'm not so sure.
Galen Rupp is and has always been an enigma. I sincerely have no idea what to expect. They guy has WON chicago, he clearly has the cred to pull off a great race and be top American. But his recent race history, while sparse, is not great.
Hoping for a good result for Galen. A polarizing figure, but one who has put up some serious results over the years.

This. A month in Flag with Mike recently is a good sign.
Great weather Sunday morning.
2:07 low
I like Rupp, and I hope it goes well for him on Sunday.
Good luck Galen!
He's dressed like a grandpa making a run for the early bird special buffet.
I expect both Rupp and Mantz to run sub 2:07:30. I don't think this is unrealistic.
I think the fact he's optimistic is about the best sign we could get. I think he knows he's not challenging for the win with a 2:01 guy, but given that he's gotten the best training he's had in a long time, I expect a good race from him, 2:06:30-2:07:30.
It's gonna be fun seeing him and Mantz against each other. I've got Rupp over Mantz, but I'd love to see Mantz with a big PR and a win over Rupp.
You could not pre-program more perfect weather conditions for Sunday morning. 50 degrees, cloudy, light breeze.
I think every time he’s been this happy about his build up he’s delivered. We’re there any times he didn’t?
Only because I would love to see it: Breaks Kannouchi’s AR.

I'm not saying he's lying, but isn't this the stuff you're supposed to say at a pre-race press conference? He's being paid to show up. If he runs well it's a bonus.

There is zero chance of this happening. Galen is no longer an elite runner. Connor Mantz is better than Galen at every distance now and Connor will not get the AR. Galen is now a 37 year old 2:11 marathoner (in the old shoes), but he may run 2:09 due to the super shoes.
Rupp is gonna take Mantz out to the woodshed
2:04:56. Mark it
He sounds more confident than he's been in a while. Good things are possible.
