The Weather is Good he is in Great Shape, I think 2:03 is Possible, everyone will dismiss that as nuts, but if a Kenyan or Ethiopian Had 7:30 for 3000, 26:44 and A Silver Medal in the Olympics 10000 and Bronze in the Olympic Marathon Credentials, Most on this Board would EXPECT IT, REALLY Top Notch White Runners are so rare, That People don't think they are as good as they are in fact, Running Wise Rupp is Physiologically like The African sub 2:05 Runners and very Different from most of American top Marathoners. He is THE REAL THING, but because he is White and Whites are almost never as good, people are going to have lower expectations of him then they would of a Kenyan or Ethiopian of The Same Ability.
But Glen Rop has indicated he's declined considerably aince leaving Salazar. Sure he could pop a 203 when he was a 26mid 10k guy, but he been about a 2715+ 10k level guy since leaving the greatest coach he ever had.
IF he is able to keep getting the pills Alberto would send to him, he will be fine. If not, he's toast because this time he can't cheat with experimental shoes (as everyone now has the super shoes)

Maybe we need Salazar. Galen and Mo looked pretty fast back in the Olympic 10k. What’s his strategy and coaching style other than doping?
High mileage (120-130 MPW) almost all ran sub 6 and 3 workouts a week(long run had tempo stuff in it), big emphasis on sprinting. The workouts could get VERY hard, different than the current threshold training ideas.

That version of Galen Rupp no longer exists. He looks like a decrepit, hunched over old man when he’s doing laps on campus. His body has been destroyed, and he’s in the twilight of his career.
He has a herniated disc in his back, right? Those are hit or miss. If he had surgery or a steroid shot, he should be fine.
He still ran 2:09 at world’s stopping to stretch his back near the end. When he DNF’ed at NY, I think he went through in 63 low at the half. Fitness is still there.
I’ll say his back cooperates this time and Rupp finishes in 2:07:06.

The only thing that helped my herniated disc was core work. lots and lots of core. Even then I never got full flexibility back which influenced my stride.
