Because he's rich and it's like you and I buying a soda. Also, maybe she wanted to mess around with pole vault as a hobby since she used to be good at it. I haven't ran competitively in years, but still buy shoes and go for a jog once in awhile. If I was a former pole vaulter and had a pit in my backyard, your question would be valid.
huh? when rich people build tennis or basketball courts in their backyard do you demand that they tear them down unless they are currently a pro athlete? why do u think a rich couple, one of whom is a former pro pole vaulter, would build a pole vault pit in their backyard? is this situation actually difficult for you to understand?
Yes, it's difficult for me to understand. I have never heard of someone who retired from pole vaulting years ago, who still had a pole vault pit in their backyard.
Are you saying that you know of former pole vaulters who still have a pole vault pit in their backyard just for the heck of it years after they have retired? If so, what are the names of these pole vaulters?

Can someone tell me why Fowler had a pole vault pit in his back yard? Hasn't Stokke ben retired for years?
She was still competing in 2017 when she started dating Fowler. The pole vault pit was given away around 3 years ago so only two or three years after she stopped competing.

I know one former vaulter who built a runway and a pit in their back yard. It was just for fun too. They were a good collegiate vaulter, but not even a NCAA qualifier. They just liked to vault. It was a pretty sweet setup too. The runway was all framed up and wooden.

Because retired pole vaulters (besides the very best) are generally not really rich enough to have a pole vault set-up in their back yard.

These people are super rich.
I'm curious, how expensive is it to set up a pole vault pit in the backyard? Certainly it's unusual, but perhaps worth it for someone that enjoys pole vaulting
