To the best of my knowledge, no US runner has bucked up and actually joined a Japanese Corporate team. Although many offer great financial opportunities, racing opportunities, proven coaching and super training groups, no American has even taken a shot. Why is this? My opinion is that they couldn't hack it. The facts show that Americans need everything to be about them (the individual) and could not handle the workloads. Added to the fact that one must be totally dedicated to one purpose (running fast) and they just don't have the focus. I guess they are worried about their "careers" outside the sport adds to this to. Too many sacrifices to run fast. What are the reasons you think they don't do it. Do you think your mates in the states could be successful there?
