I would bet almost anything that Yared is clean. Supershoes give him probably 2-2.5 seconds, which puts him at a 3:46, which given his times in college (3:34-ish) isn't an unbelievable drop. Also, it's important to look at who he's partnered up with professionally. Ritz is kind of the benchmark of a clean-living athlete who would both be aware of, and absolutely intolerant of any suspicious activity. Also, Yared is pretty low-key....not the type of win-at-all-costs kind of guy. None of the puzzle pieces fit in framing an argument that he's dirty. Just relax and enjoy it. We have a champion-level miler for the first time in a while. I honestly think he will be the gold medalist next year as long as he stays healthy. His trajectory is rising faster than JI's, and I think next year he takes over the event, which will prompt JI to head to the longer distances.

4 second PR in an event thats never run? It was the equivalent of a 1.5 second PR of a race he ran 3 months ago when he wasn't in peak fitness. A big jump for sure, but nowhere near the level you are implying. So was he not doping then, but just started now before the Pre Classic?

Yes exactly. Yared is the guy everyone loves and would never want to see popped but the reality is we are approaching Lance heyday tour de France level doping in distance running now. It was really inevitable. Will there be a peak where a whistle is blown and the sport torn apart like there was in cycling? Hopefully, because that's the only way to potentially rectify a glaring issue.

His overall drop in 1500/mile time over the last several years is not suspicious. He ran a 3:38 at the beginning of his 2019 outdoor season. 4 1/2 years later, he runs essentially 10 seconds faster, with moderate drops each year. And he has the added bonus of no longer being in school, training full time with all the facilities and personnel needed to maximize his workouts PLUS better shoes, wave light technology, and a generational talent (JI) to rabbit him in the fastest possible conditions. I've been around this sport for 40 years and have seen enough dopers to understand when red flags should be raised and when they shouldn't. This just doesn't seem like a doping situation at all. That marathon over the weekend? Now THAT raises red flags. All of them.

In terms of you making a big deal of a massive mile PR, how often is that really contested? When he was at Notre Dame the only time he ran the mile was during the indoor season. The mile is rarely contested outdoors once out of high school.

On the WA scoring Table, the new women's marathon record is higher than anything flojo did, higher than SML's 400h record. It is better than anything Faith Kipyegon has done.

It trails some Bolt 100m and a few 200m men's sprint performances. Better than any ElG or Kipchoge performance. It's in a completely different stratosphere than anything ingy or yared is doing.

I don't view a 3:43 mile in the same as a 2:11 marathon by a woman. I actually think 3:43-46 miles would be a lot more common if it was an event that was really taken seriously. 3:43 just seems so extraordinary because of how rarely the event is run at the top level - there's only been one outdoor top class mile this year. When someone runs 3:27-28 for the 1500 we acknowledge it's fast, but it doesn't seem crazy. That's how 3:43-44 would seem if elite mid-d guys really cared about it.

But 2:11 is out of this world good. It equates to a 2:00:45 for a man. That performance was worth 1319 points on the WA scoring tables. If Jakob wants that, he'd need to run 3:42.14 for the mile or 3:24.88 for the 1500. So what Nuguse ran and what Assefa ran are totally incomparable
