Nope, not now. Her best chances have passed. She will not be in Paris next year, either.
Some people come so close but just never reach a barrier. Morgan Uceny, Ruth Wysocki, and Karissa Schweizer are all less than 0.2 from breaking 4:00. Obviously, the only one who still has a chance is Karissa.
If I had to bet on it I would say no.
Another year older, and unfortunately for her as well she is going to be very hard pressed to make Paris.
Purrier is money - 4:23 so soon after a baby is very impressive and when she's on she's on. I'd bet on her being back on the team.
Hiltz is weak in all out races, but USAs isn't likely to be all out (unless Purrier chooses violence like she did in 2021). In a tactical race no one is beating 'em.
Wiley - a lot of things could go wrong and destabilize her rise, but if she is in her current shape next summer she's on the team.
Johnson + McGee both are going to have to up their game next year if they want to make the team.
Wildcards
**If Athing Mu does the 1500m again then they have to make it an honest race hard from the start and not let it go slow with Athing controlling the pace and starting the kick on her own terms.
Elise Cranny - she split 3:58 en route to the mile in Monaco. That's very impressive. I'm dying to see how she does if Jerry lets her actually focus on the 1500 instead of messing around with the 10,000m.
Heather MacLean - will 2022 Heather or 2023 show up in 2024?
I have faith in Cory! Next season.
I appreciate Cory's grit and willingness to push in the middle of races, even if it hasn't yet panned out in a sub-4 for her. It's cool that she made the team way back in 2013 in a super tactical race, was mediocre in the years after that, and then improved a lot with Team Boss in 2021. I hope she lays down a fast time before she is past her peak.
She will not get many races with a better setup than today where 9 women broke 4. It seems like she wastes too much energy with positioning early in the race. She just needs to latch on to someone and hang on for dear life.
She has come close so many times being ahead of pace with a lap to go and then just craters the last 100 m.
In really hope she does… but I’m losing hope. 🤷🏼♀️

Pretty good summary.
Add in Emily MacKay, EPSP's & MacLean's teammate on Team NBB who came out of nowhere this year to run sub-4 . . . and could arguably be ahead of MacLean next year.
Dani Jones as well . . . who right now is McGee's equal with her recent 4:01 . . .
Regarding the sub-4 question . . . believe the rope has run out on Cory for reasons mentioned above . . . and even if she is able to finally break through with a 3:59.+, that won't make her significantly better as a racer . . . where she makes teams and WC/Oly finals more on excellent tactics and good luck (falling down, being advanced) . . .
Corey has a bit of a hitch in her stride. Does anybody know what that is all about. Is her leg length different. If she can get that figured out she will break 4

Fixed it for you. Now, she may never do it but her mile pb shows she's good enough.
Rojo, I don't think there was anything about the question that needed fixing. The question wasn't whether she was good enough to break 4 for 1500 (she is) but rather would she given all the good chances she has.
Pretty lame to go in and change someone's original post if if wasn't objectionable for any reason.
She'll be 32 next spring. Time for the 'thon
