Athing Mu on the Start List
Athing Mu on the Start List
Kerley and Simbine not running 100m despite being top of the standings? Are they injured?
Seems like Klecker scratched out of the 3K if they went all the way down the standings to Kincaid.
That rules. Good for Athing. It seems like maybe us armchair psychologists were right in the idea that losing might be good for her in terms of getting that pressure/fear and just liking competing again.
No Girma? I see Getnet Wale is listed as doing the steeplechase and the 3000m.
There is a chance that the Goose could break Alan Webb’s US mile record.
Good to see Fisher in the 3000. Why is there a woman in the 5000 with a 16:20 pb?
Jakob should brashly enter every event from 800m up.
And then he should do like Alvarez and pop pills mid race and yell like Warholm.
Some interesting inclusions/exclusions :
-Mu
-Warholm/Rai
-Mills
-Simon Koech (good to see)
-Cheptegei!?
-NO Girma/Van Niekerk/Moula/Krop/Katir/Gidey/Kerley/Seville
Cheptegei running? With his injury after the 10,000 and a Marathon coming in 3 months Im pretty surprised
Perhaps the 5,000m withdrawal was just being super-cautious and training has gone exceedingly well. That’s about the only explanation.
Great to see Fisher racing this one.
He has had two really good races recently after his injury and is looking strong. His third place 5 k at Zurich DL after a few weeks of running outside of cross training, then his 3k win in Italy closing his last k in 2:24. That is impressive.
I think a top 3 performance is highly possible, maybe he will place first (that’s my hope as a big fan of his), maybe he will break his own US 3k record.
Maybe Joshua was entered in the 5000 @ Pre but then they changed it?
Nah he’s in the 3k here after scratching the Worlds 5k.
I guess this confirms Wiley is not going pro/staying at Huntington. But I wonder if she was considered by the meet directors for a wild card.

You are misunderstanding me. He may have entered what had been billed as a 5000m at Pre and then he is just rolling with it now thet they apparently changed it to a 3000m.

I'm not falling for that trick again. Bobby Kersee probably didn't even tell her that she is on the start list.

No. They’d pick Sinclaire Johnson as a Nike-sponsored athlete with greater credentials 10/10 times. Addy beat her by only .02 right? Hiltz vs Sinclaire might’ve been closer, but I’m not sure if Hiltz saw which way the wind was blowing and announced she was done or was informed by the meet that Sinclaire was the wild card.
