Is this typical on Letsrun. I don't remember letsrun posting shoe company press releases before, under a regular headline link on the main page, that goes to a letsrun page with the press release.

Using someone else's press release isn't something new. An example is Letsrun often uses Dave Monti/Race Results Weekly press releases for road race results. These press releases are presumably used with permission or from people/companies who want to see their press releases used freely for widest distribution.
