*Official lol - made a typo in the headline that I'm sure will get torn apart
This is a bummer for the 5000 -- after the 10,000, I thought it'd be a battle of the last two global champions (Cheptegei & Inge). Both dropped for what appear to be minor reasons. Chep is somewhat understand, if he is really wants to get to the Valencia starting line healthy, but c'mon Jakob. Nothing is wrong with you. Run sick -- probably still gold given the field without Chep, but at least a medal.

Per news today Ingebrigsten is running the 5000 but he says he'll be running sick
Sherika Jackson and Sha'Carri Richardson in the same 200 semi should be interesting.
All three of the men's 800m heats look tasty. Top two only but hoping at least one Brit makes the final, have a feeling it might be Pattison as his close is very strong. Think it's a race too many, too soon for Max Burgin, although hope I'm proven wrong on that.
Katir says he's loaded up with epo and ready to go
No Cheptegei thats a shame
This 5k heat is LOADED wow. Hope Jakob is able to overcome his fever and qualify without too much effort. Running right beside Nordas, maybe they are friends now.
Its very slow so far, perhaps this is good for kickers
does parsoni make it through 2 years in a row?
Offal lol - is that even a word?
Jakob must have studied the late Coach Joe Newton's "one thousand one" pause technique for XC championships when the gun goes off to avoid getting caught up in the start madness. Everyone one was gone before he started running.
Gressier coach has just said he ran 2:16 for 1000m in a workout oO.
Lol imagine if Cheptegei hadn't scratched? This heat would be absolutely insane.
Chelimo leads thru the first 2K, Nur right there also, lots taking water tho it's not too hot. Jakob still dead last.

Lol, of course it is but the definition is too awful to print here.
wish mcswyen still had it. he made these races much more fun to watch.
What happened to Nur?
Good to see Flanagan in there.
his NCAA win. He was gapped with 200 left but was turning over like ShaCarri, great finish.
hope he does well today.
