That's exactly what he said to the Norwegian broadcaster immediately after the race. "I made some poor tactical choices, and they cost me the gold ;-)" (He literally winked when he said it.)
And then, referencing what he was thinking while he came up on the finishing straight, his answer was "heck, I should have started earlier."

So its not the double threshold starting at age 10 that did it. I feel like poor Jakob could have just drank beer with his buddies until he was about 18. Gjert is def a magician.
Nobody is talking about Laros running 3:31 despite dying 50m from the line. Laros will be Jakob with 1:42 800m speed.
Laros is f*cking crazy. If he's not burned out by something like too much speed too early he shows all time potential, being so close to that Jakob 3:30 18 yo record. 1500 truly is the peak of athletics, maybe sport even.
He is not much older than Jakob. It would be hilarious if he beats Jakob in the Olympics and then runs the WR eventually. He is crazy talented.
I would love that scenario but Nordås has not the speed to break the WR in 1500m and he is leaving the 1500m to focus on 5000m next year.
Really ? That would be so dumb.
After just one year seriously training with Gjert he’s a contender for the win (with better strategy he would have taken gold according to his words), and he’s just going to change event for the olympics next year ??
I don’t believe it

Bullsh*t. The 5000m in Heusden was his only average race this year. There's a reason why he was an average long-distance guy not even competing for medals on european stage until this year, but suddenly got world class in his first season focussing on the 1500m. He clearly found his event, he isn't a guy like Jakob who is also great at the 5000m. The better comparison would be Filip, who (just like Nordas) is pretty slow at 800m, but also not strong enough for the 5000m.
