JAKOB 50.63 last lap in lane 2 while waving to the crowd

a lot of people went back and watched the video and believe it was more like 52 seconds. no shock if WA messed up the times. that is a lot of data to pick up and they don't always get it right

World athletics results are wrong. It was actually a 52 point last lap. Still very good.

He’s getting too arrogant and should’ve been focusing on just running. Has he forgotten that he lost two 1500 championship races last year? I love confidence and I love when athletes show personality but this is not it. Win the damn thing first then you can put on the act

Hearing over and over that this guy has no kick, can’t shift gears, etc. (to the point that people were saying he’s not even the favorite in a slow 5k) was so annoying. Hopefully this ends that nonsense. 52 point hyping up the crowd and jogging through the line would suggest he could’ve run a 50 if he wanted to. And to think some people don’t believe he has sub 50 400 speed lmao

World Athletics has been consistently wrong on the splits in every single race, why on earth would you trust them? Put on the race again and take out a stopwatch and you'll see it was 52.x.

the funny thing about those splits is that they imply jakob was last with 400 meters to go, when he in fact already moved up by 4 positions at this point. they also state he was fourth 100 meters earlier lol

They also show a runner in the previous 1,500 heat closing in 11.4 in the final 100m. They should stop posting splits if they aren't gonna be even close to accurate

Nice. And (according to the splits) his 100m split leading up to the bell was so slow that Hocker would have put 12 meters on him in just that 100m stretch. I think in this particular instance the final 3 100m splits might be accurate, but you can subtract about a second from the 1000-1100 split and add it to the 1100-1200 split.

It was exactly 51.86 last lap.

I guess hand timing is more accurate via television than when in person.

jakob is putting it in WEJOs face by starting in DFL for half the race, getting completely boxed in, then pulling a steve ovett to wave to the crowd. "I DONT NEED A PACEMAKER I AM THE PACEMAKER.". Wejo forgot that jakob made his name as a superior tactical runner before becoming a record chaser (and i mean that with the utmost respect, as Mo Farah never crossed over, which is fine he can cry tears to his 4 gold medals)

and yes jakob would have smoked that 10k too........5k record is anothers until he runs it.
