I think Jakob, Kerr, Kipsang and Yared are my top 4. I think Kipsang is being slept on a bit. He has a tactic that throws many guys off and it doesn’t rely on anyone else. The higher quality the field the more chaos behind him potentially. Will Jakob let him run a 58-59 sec. second lap? Don’t know, but if that means he can run on Jakobs shoulder that’s not bad either.

Man I thought Jakob could be vulnerable in a 3:34 type race. Now I think I'm wrong. He is winning no matter what. Nuguse and Kerr for second and third.

i thought this as well. was shocked by the split at the end. that 50 looked very easy especially for a decently quick race.

…which was off a 1:48.1 last 800m. I wonder if he could break his 800m PB in the last 800m of the Final.
Kipsang did the same thing two days in a row: 55 mid opening lap, 59 second lap. If Jakob wants to run fast he can sit on Kipsang for 400 meters and then go around.
Jakob 3:27.62
Nuguse 3:29.10
Kerr 3:29.32
Would love for Kerr to medal (he’s looked great so far) as there was a lot of talk about how far behind he was in Oslo. Luckily they don’t give out championship medals for DL performances.
