How (And why?) are you trying to draw "marathon equivalent" times from a hilly and hot/humid 7.1 mile road race like Falmouth? That is simply not a good analysis.....and not accurate.

if the race is 7 miles exactly then Obiri ran 5:02 pace...that is not a 2:22 marathon

Could be actually. She was probably cruising. I have seen plenty of dudes fail to break 35 at Falmouth but then go sub 2:20

Here’s how the race played out. Lead pack of about 8, including Seidel, through 5km in 16:23. Obiri, Limo and Kelati dropped Vicoty and Sisson and an Ethiopian girl plus Molly. Obiri then powered away and over the final mile Sisson regrouped and passed all but Hellen.

To take this post at face-value, more and more events are offering Male or Men's, Female or Women's, and Non-binary awards, and also offering registrants the option to choose a "None of the above" or "Choose not to say" option and opt out of awards. Usually, though, that category wouldn't be listed (as it's intentionally opting out of being included in an awards category other than overall, and thus no leaderboard is needed).

(And to address this specific question, X is becoming the standard listing for non-binary and U for Unassigned, which would include all None of the above/Choose not to say entrants (and also sometimes late bib reassignments or people who are entered for customer service reasons at the Expo).

How many times have you run Falmouth? And a road marathon? The year I ran 1:04 for the half and 2:16 for a marathon I ran 34:40 at Falmouth.

I believe the course is not exactly 7.0 miles (it's some odd ball distance actually because it's a "pub to pub" kinda run). That doesn't really matter though as it is also notoriously hot/humid (late morning start) and pretty hilly.

So what I'm saying is it's not even worth trying to "guestimate" an "equivalent marathon time"....especially from shorter race in those conditions that isn't even a standard distance. In that regard the OP's estimations are just bad analysis imo. Just guessing and making up numbers based on what?

Given Seidel’s other legitimate recent races, I think this is her best result in a while. Hoping things are starting to click for her as Chicago approaches. I don’t really see her excelling exceptionally well on a fast, flat course like Chicago as she seems to be a gritty racer who uses tough conditions to her advantage, but it’s an opportunity for her to run a PB, which is still about 6 minutes slower than Sisson is aiming for.

Okay fine I stand corrected. Back when I ran it (2011) we didn't even have accurate GPS watches. In my defense look at this text in the wikipedia entry:

"Before 2006, promotional materials usually described the Falmouth Road Race as a 7.1-mile (11.4 km) event. In 2006, it was measured and certified to be 7 miles (11 km).[3]"

It also originated as a "pub to pub" kinda run....but there's a chance they adjusted the finish line to make it 7.0 miles exactly. Much like the Boston Marathon course has changed over the years due to new road construction etc.

But back to my main point: Because the course is rather hilly (and often hot/humid) and only 7 miles....it is basically worthless to try to draw any kind of "marathon equivalent performances" off of. I don't even know how the OP decided to try to extrapolate those numbers...by using some "calculator" found online?! It's just a guess (and not a valid analysis attempt).
