Tim C. only managed to outkick him by .16 seconds. I'd say that's a pretty good day at the office for a guy who isn't even out of college, yet.
His problem was not fitness. He positioned himself terribly in a slow race like that. He had plenty of run left at the end but he had nowhere to go. He must have asked Grant Fisher how to position himself during a race.
Live and learn. It's been a long year for Joe and I am excited to see what he can do as a pro.

Waskom made the right bet to get on the rail and hope that things opened up, but it just didn’t pan out for him today. It was a great season / year for him.
