Might the women's 200m WR fall in Budapest? Jackson: "Last year I ran 21.45 but now I am definitely faster"

I think there's a good chance it will fall. We just need the right weather conditions. Her 100m is clearly better and I wouldn't worry about the races she's lost since she herself hasn't seemed concerned. I think she'll shock the world, maybe even give us a sub 10.6 and a 21.29.

If she's faster than Flojo's world-mark we know what that means.

There is no doubt that she is in great shape this year, and that last race where she was beaten by ScR is imo proof of the fact that she is so hood, she can afford to not go 100%—in fact, it is SMART to ho nowhere near 100% for more than a few seconds, when you are that fit as a sprinter, because your forces are WAY up there, and you WILL get injured. She hit it early, then cruised. Smart.

This is why the 100/200 double at majors is so hard, and what makes Dolt’s achievements remarkable: double individual WR’s in a major. FloJo’s achievement is nearly as good.

Is Jackson now on that level? ETH showed that FloJo’s times can be reached using current methods, so it is absolutely possible. Dolt did it a mere decade or so ago, from the same country/system. This year, we will see if it makes any difference that Jackson is a woman, and that Diack et al aren’t around. Women sprinters just haven’t had the same marketing worth as men sprinters.

I also have no doubt that she can execute. When you’re at YOUR absolute best, you are ready. She is calm, she is there, she knows. I would not be shocked if she gets it.

I would also not be shocked if she gets popped. There’s a bit of a mess down there at the moment, so we’ll see what happens.

We will get to see first in the M100m if the new track is “fast”. Weather looks good and hot for the weekend, maybe a thunderstorm on Sat, so conditions look good.

You think 21.3x for the 200 - which hasn't been touched in 35 years - is legit? 35 years before she set that record the world mark was 23.4. But no progress since 1988.

Never said that, nor implied it. Like most, I believe she was doped "to the gills" that magical year where she set all of those ridiculous records. My response was intended to be a troll post, sort playing on the speculation that her 100m time was done with a heavy tailwind but it was never registered because of a faulty wind gauge.
