Fisher posted an IG story from St. Moritz today. Does this mean he is back running and we will see him race again sometime after worlds this summer? Can't imagine why else he would've gone to Europe.

I think that's the goal. It would be cool if he can do a Diamond League or maybe target the 5K Road Championships in Riga. That's October 1 and he could be in good form by then if cross-training and rehab have gone well.

Getting some sweet, sweet cross training at altitude.

Zürich Diamond League is on 31st of August. There's a 5000m scheduled on the programme.
Honestly this doesnt seem like a good idea. Jager has said in a podcast interview before that when a Bowerman athlete is injured, they dont travel to altitude with the team, they stay at home (unless its a minor niggle ofc).
Grant has a femoral stress reaction, that's not a small thing, my concern is this may indicate a quicker return to training than is probably wise?

St Moritz is basically paradise - nothing wrong with going there just to be there and be with your friends. I don't know what the IG story showed...but basically if you have a reason to go to St M in the summer, do it.
This season doesn't end at the WC. If he is healthy, he should enter remaining diamond league races. Fulfilling his contract is important (actually earning money this year). There is plenty of time to continue to build fitness for 2024.
even if he's shut it down for the season and is just doing light miles, still might prefer to be in st moritz with the lads vs training alone in portland/eugene

His story showed him running a workout on the track in spikes

Now I'm confused... He's on the final entry list published by World Athletics for the 10,000m. Doesn't that mean he's been accepted into Worlds? Or is there a separate entry versus accepted entry list?

I saw this too. Im kinda surprised he came back so quick from a femoral stress reaction. In his initial interview, he made it sound like he had a good bit of pain, along with it showing up on an MRI. If caught very early, I could see it being healed enough after 6 weeks to start running, but dang, it looks like he started running 3 weeks after and is now full steam

but should he be doing any running at all with that injury?

He looks crazy fit, so he’s obviously not been slacking off.

He's USA alternate in 10k.
Per WA's Budapest home page, start lists will not be posted until after the WC technical meeting on the 18th.
Unless athletes or federations announce beforehand, the public will not know who is racing what until sometime Friday.
Thus . . . for the moment . . . there is still room for Grant to replace Sean in the 10k . . . just as there is still room for Weini to replace Elise in the 10k.
And . . . the ongoing mystery of Athing Mu should be solved . . . maybe . . .
