Impressive looking runner yes but the beginning pace was very pedestrian.
72 sec at 400 m
2:24 at 800 m
3:05 at the bell
3:56
He’s a proven 1:44.78/3:32.89 guy at 18 but yeah, this performance doesn’t really move the needle at all.
Pretty much a reminder what a talent he is when he destroys the best U20s in Europe looking like he's doing a light training run. But sure it won't trouble a certain '18' year old in Kenya.

Lol. There is no 18 year old Kenyan that can beat him. Are you stuck in 2008?
As a matter of fact, there are only 3 Kenyan that can beat him...and that would not be an easy task for them.
What's also interesting is that he ran 51.35 for that last lap but that was with slowing down and waving at the crowd the last 30-40 meters. That could have easily been a sub 51 lap. Very close to Centro's 2016 Oly final lap

There's probably a load of Kenyans we've never heard of who could beat this kid if they trained. The problem is that they can only earn a living as a taxi driver. Heck, I'd bet you there are 100 sub-1:45 Kenyan taxi drivers.

Hard to make such splits in Nairobi rush hour traffic

Correct, although Reynopd Cheryuit who I was referring to supposedly just turned 19. I was just having a pop at John Wesley Harding, who always belittles the performances of non-African runners.

You are beyond parody at this point Hoad.
1000 Dutch sub 1:45 soccer players is more likely than 100 sub 1:45 Ken6an taxi drivers.
I just read that the average Kenyan taxi driver earns $4000 a year. Any sub 1:45 Kenyan is guaranteed to be signed by a management agency and earn more than that before even sponsorship, as well as getting to spend the summer in Europe. Any kid with 1:45 talent would get noticed and signed up. Half the talent scouts in the world are hanging about Kenyan schools hoping to groom a talent and feed them the best supplements.

Actually I don’t, you’re just a loon, and nobody including myself could have possibly known that was the intent of your comment.
Here’s a thread from 2 months ago where I was ridiculed for hyping up Laros at the “expense” of an African-born runner. Shows how silly both you and that poster are:
Sifan with the 10k, 15 double at the FBK games just 6 weeks after her incredible win in London. Sure the competition wasn't Diamond League quality, but the two wins in consecutive days is again evidence of her dominance. Her...

The only conclusion I can get from Coevett’s weird habit of bringing up Reynold Cheruiyot unprompted in now multiple threads is that he is very wary that he’s going to be a world-beater by the ‘24-‘27 range. So ultimately it’s a twisted sign of respect as Cheruiyot looks like the most talented Kenyan 1500 prospect since Kiprop (obviously doping clouds that one) and Ngeny. I think it’s pretty uncontroversial to say that Laros, Cheruiyot and Myers all are phenoms and look like special talents and potential challengers to even Jakob in the 1500 going forward. No need to really diminish any one of them to prop them up.
