But now lets do the projection. Her natural range was about 4:14 in the 1500m. But add some PEDs and presto, she runs 4:01 at 6000 ft, which at sea level is about 3:55. That means, particularly on the women's side, that PEDs can turn mules into racehorses as the saying went, and that therefore nothing we see at the top level is real.

Yeah. If I had to guess, they will say she went rogue. Recall from that article on her breakthrough she was kicked out for flaunting the rules of the camp. In this second stint, she left the camp/supervision to tend to her son, so they can allege that that is when she used PEDs and there was no oversight/involvement. Their best defense of course is that Cheptegei has been subject to more testing for an extended and has never returned a positive test of course. But of course, you can't fault anyone on these boards for being increasingly suspicious now that someone who trained under the same roof got caught.

It sure seems plausible she might've been planning on running in Silesia, got notified of the incoming ban and made up an injury. But obviously that cover up was only going to work in the short term, and honestly it was not even a DL points event so few would've even noticed she scratched last-minute.

Yes. But unlike in Shelburrito's case, they couldn't get a quiet provisional ban. And people wonder why some are suspicious about Mu - especially with her Chemist.

a) the AIU will accept the excuse(s) ("I ate a burrito" / "I made out with a bodybuilder") or
b) the AIU will agree to keep the ban secret until after the CAS decision.
