Hi, I just recently graduated HS and now I’m preparing for my freshman year of college. In HS I ran XC but on the track I’ve been mostly a 400m runner because we had better distance girls. I ran 64 for 400 but got to run some 1600s for the first time and got down to 5:35.
My coach only had me running maybe 15 miles a week but it wasn’t consistent especially if I was racing the 400 that week and not the 1600. Now my college coach has me up to 40 miles a week this summer, I built up gradually since the end of may. Will this really help me be a better runner? I know that’s a weird question to ask because I feel stronger but I never thought I would be running this much so soon. Thanks
