I wouldn't be surprised if he trained almost every day even after retirement. He still wants to stay fit I guess. Usually you're not going from 120 mpw to nothing.
Race organisers are still paying him for running their events, so why wouldn't he train even he knows he won't be at his best without Salazar's help. When he stops being paid, and has no other thing to do, he could join this forum and start criticizing other elite athletes...

Seems like most people on Letsrun have a hard time taking a day off from running or have been running for decades, but then one of the most decorated professional distance runners of the last 12 years continues to do all he’s done for most of his adult life and people are surprised.

Or, he could write a book criticizing other elite athletes & coaches in order to keep his name & face out there instead of fading into dusty history where she (oops, I mean he) belongs. Oh, wait… I’m thinking of someone else.

He already wrote a book for $ so does it only bother you when a woman does it?
Because he's a runner. That's what we do. I was a pretty good runner but NEVER world or national class. I am now 69 and a whole lot slower but I train almost everyday. It is what we are.

I don't think he'll be going to Font Romeu to hammer track workouts when he's retired.
