Funny thing about picking Flo-Jo is even if she ended up clean, we still wouldn’t know what the heck happened with the wind measurement system when her 100 WR was set!
Use it for personal gain on a rival school right before the conference meet. Hope their top sprinter has traces of marijuana in their system and gets suspended.
- Assume the public knows you received this power and HAS TO accept what you find out (and you are required to truthfully share it). Basically, these message boards can't be full of posts saying you're lying or "how can we trust the magic actually worked?"
- You would also learn how each instance of PEDs got in athlete X's body (for the cases like Shelby's, Gatlin, Ajee Wilson, etc.), and where they got it from. This could potentially expose a dirty coach / agent as well.
- You can pick an active or retired athlete.
- WA and any other organizations are still free to do whatever they want after learning this information. They will also treat it as fact.
Curious how many people here would use this power to go after something they think was doping vs. try to prove their favorite athlete was clean? Keep in mind, the answer you get might be the opposite of what you were hoping for!
Fascinating question. So many options….any of the outliers like Bolt or Kipchoge or Bekeke or El G, or those with questionable associations like Farah or Rupp or Lagat.
At the end of the day, I would choose Shelby because I’d like some more insights into the science and due process of modern testing.
For Shelby, it could clear up if she acted alone or if someone at Nike was involved. Could settle the intent debate as well if we learned she blindly took something that had the nandrolone it in from a trusted source

If Shelby is truly + and with + intent (genie tells us both) gives you faith the system is working as intended. If she doesn’t actually have nandrolone in her system or if she does but it’s known that it was not intentional (the burrito after all), makes you think the whole system (science, due process, burden of proof) needs to be burned down and rebuilt.
For my first wish I would wish for more wishes. Then I would go about dismantling the idea that Kipchoge, Bekele, El G, Geb, Komen were clean. Undoubtedly several regulars here would go home devastated. I’d throw in Shelby as a bonus so we wouldn’t have to suffer through another thread on her.
