I believe that Shelby didn’t start doping until after the 2019 world championships when she ran the race of her life and still got crushed. Today’s run by Monson validates my belief. If Monson can run 14:19 while clean, that makes it more likely that Shelby was clean when she ran 14:23.
Kiplimo wasn’t wearing super spikes when he ran 26:33 either. I guess he was in sub 26 shape and blew his chance at the world record because he wore the wrong shoes. /s
I could take all the drugs and still lose to some clean runners. You’re an idiot.
That’s because you’re not very talented. Do you really think Monson has so much more talent than Shelby that a clean Monson can run faster than a doped Shelby?? Either Monson is doping now, or Shelby was clean back then.

Or maybe drugs don't make a big difference, or everyone's on something. If you can't tell who's doping because all these athletes are running similarly fast, then either no one's doping, drugs don't work, or everyone's doping. If they theoretically make you run 5 seconds faster in a 1500 and 10% of people are on drugs then all of the medalists are on drugs. This is based on 34 1500 runners at 3:32 or faster, if 10% took drugs and improved by 5 seconds in a 1500 then the top 3.4 athletes would be running Jakob type times or faster. Or let's say they only make you 3 seconds faster. Currently to be a medal contender you need to be 3:29, again there are about 30 other people within a few seconds of that type of time, 10% of that is 3 athletes so if 10% of the top 30+ athletes improved by 3 seconds in a 1500 because of drugs then they would make up the entire podium. Does this mean that the top several athletes in the world are all doping? Or does this mean that doping doesn't really do much? Or does this mean that no one is doping and the drug testing is working since 'clean' athletes are able to be on the podium? If drugs make such a big difference then no clean athletes would be at the front.
You think maybe people could still gain benefits from taking hormones/ banned substances at a “legal limit”? I mean, they wouldn’t get caught!!
“No, but they seem like a cool down to earth person, they’re 100% clean, they would never betray this bs idea of cool-acting athletes being clean put out by fans”.
It’s not just Monson. It’s not just houlihan who messed up on one occasion (those who actually know what happened, know), it’s a lot of top people.
Don’t hate the player, hate the game. Money, contracts are on the line. These are competitors. May not be actually crossing the line to be considered doping, but you know…

if you “actually know what happened” then why don’t you go ahead and enlighten us?

mental gymnastics, kudos on your flexibility!
There is a camp of people that say all your records should be invalidated as proper disincentive for ever committing the cardinal sin. Can’t prove you were on it at the time? doesn’t matter, this sport doesn’t need you, your ethics or your memory.
People’s naivety give this nonsense way too much breathing room to permeate the sport.
Change sports. Lance definitely cheated to a greater extent and earlier than he has admitted to, and he’s admitted to minor cheating as a youth already! but there is a huge camp of people that think magically he’s telling the truth this time?
Robertson cheated before it’s been proven. You believe his story to I’ve got a bridge to sell you. they all have. The colossal weight of legal action against them for admitting anything prior to that protects everyone else and keeps the omertà.
take all their records and results back. test all athletes at major meets upon arrival and post event. Stop taking injured athletes out of the high frequency testing pool. test at 3am. test the top 5 in every event every 3 weeks. test them in the hills of Morocco. make TUEs public.

He ran 57:30 for the half marathon. It is not crazy at all to say he was in world record 10K shape or close in that race. Shelbo is nowhere close to Kiplimo
Let me add that a) 15-18% use blood doping in-competition at two different world championships and that b) various experts estimated blood doping to help 2-4% based on various studies and observations.
So the situation is actually worse than in your worst scenario.
