Would you put $10k on the line to bet on yourself? What percentage of LRC do you think could beat him?

I could beat him if he agreed that we would both be blindfolded.
It would be kind of like the Monty Python 100m for people with no sense of direction
My fastest 100m ever was handtimed around 12.2 back when I was 16 and In 4:17 mile shape. I've seen Jakob run that quick at the end of a Sub-3:30 1500m. I highly doubt I could crack 13 today and even in my physical hayday. I HIGHLY DOUBT I would've even been a meter behind him. So that'd just be 10k I lose.
I wrote it two weeks ago before Silesia:
In day 14 there will be threads comparing Jakob with Jess Owens, Usain Bolt, and maybe Mohammed Ali for the sportif of the century.
What do you expect, threads about you instead?
Make it a 10 m sprint at 5'11 and 217 lbs and Matt London wins it.
I might stand a chance of beating him,if we both crawled,or if we ran the race backwards, but even then,im pretty sure he'd easily beat me.
If J Ingebrigtsen listens to Let'srun dummies, switches to Marathon training for a year and he is forbidden to run under 16 seconds per 100 meters for one year. IF my 100m training for one year goes well, then I will beat him, 100m dash.
Tbf I loved your thread about the Algerian Pride generation of runners.
It gave me so much hope for the rights of marginalized groups in the Maghreb region of North Africa.
Wait, are you now saying the runners of this forum is like Usain Bolt? If not the opposite of your dollar store comparison is happening.
At my all time best, absolutely, but I also have a 10.88 PR with doing only a couple weeks of block work. I was a 800m guy (sub 1:48 PR) that was absolute dog poop above 1000m.
Now? Hell no. I’d be lucky to break 13.
I think Matt London may have a chance against Jakob in the 8 meter dash.
What was your 400m time? You should have been able to run a lot faster than 1:48 with a 10.88, but I guess you were lacking heavily aerobic wise
I think right now I probably could beat him in a 100 from blocks.
a bit of background I ran at a mid level D1 school as a 400/800 guy but in highschool ran the 100/200/400.
I have a 100 PR or 10.7, 21. 5 in the 200, 47.1 in the 400 and 1:49 in the 800. essentially I have pretty bad endurance and only switched to long distance recently. I’m 30 and started doing 10k/HM/Marathon a couple years ago.
After college I got into power lifting for 4-5 years and was way stronger than I ever was when I was a sprinter. Never ran a race but my 40 was 100% faster than it was when I ran track and my 100 if I trained for a few months probably would have been in the 10.5 range.
I can probably run 11 flat out of blocks right now and although Jakob is an aerobic freak, he’s not really a speed runner and I don’t think he could run 11 flat out of the blocks.
I’d take the bet.
" ... should have been able to run a lot faster than 1:48 with a 10.88 ...)
You do know somewhere between (97.5 to 99.xx)% of fa.t. 10.8x 100m men cannot run sub-1:48 800m.
well I can easily beat 3:27 pace for 100m, so now idn if I'll need the blindfolds.
I know 100m is less than 1500m, but Jakob barely ever speeds up much.

I'd put $10k on the line if I could rig his blocks to trip him out at the start, lol. My all out 100 from a standing start is like a 12.7 and he can do that 4 times over so zero chance of me winning against him.
i ran 9.9 100 yards jogging start in practice hand time, which "converts" to about 12. low 100m, due to hand time correction and for out of the blocks, an in actual fact, the blocks are a skill on their own, i would not know how to get up to speed at all doing that. and that would be true of most distance runners.
for the 200m time, whatever the distance runner's best time is you can subtract 0.5 seconds because they don't have the starting skill. that would be the best read on the speed.
i am 100% sure that jacob is faster, and out of the blocks he would do 22 mid high,
so that is the kind of speed that you'd have to beat.
check out wayne gretzky, who beat pele borg sugar ray leonard and was faster than Nehemiah and some ballers i think in another heat.
his time "converts" to 11 mid 100m.
which means that gretz is a sub 11 100m guy with training.
and the gretz was the greatest endurance athlete in hockey, as his production went up in the third period, significantly.
gretz had the tools for the 800,
as do many other athletes from pro sports,
realize the greats of track, did not fall into other sports by fate.
there are only a small handful of elite talents in the sport.
jacob is one,

jogging start suggests you were holding the watch. If so there is no "hand time correction" because you didn't have to react to the start. That correction is about reaction time, if you're holding the watch you can nail the start exactly.
