I hope that he can successfully achieve the standard he needs.

He can run 3:34 only paced by higher caliber runner.

He ran 4:06 in high school and won NCAAs 3 years later. Seems like a normal enough progression for an NCAA champ to me. Less surprising than Beamish's mile title tbh.

I don't think he's too soft or lacks the maturity. That move at USAs showed that he's got a winner's mindset, and he closed a 3:35 with a 56/53 last 800, so I think he's got the fitness for 3:34.20. Probably closer to 3:31 tbh. I'm excited to see what he can run.

Definitely too many. The key for Waskom will be to get directly behind the pacer from the gun and try to stay at the front the whole race, which isn’t unrealistic given the caliber of the field. I think he can run 3:33.

He will work with Lumb. They train together and have near identical PRs. They both need standard.

I have run there - it's a classic small town Italian meet. Mega-fast mondo surface, it's by the sea so if you get a still night it's absolutely perfect for distance running. Would love to see Waskom bust out a sub 3.34 and honestly the way he looked in Eugene he absolutely can.

Note that Sam Ellis is also in the race, who's a bigger dude. Wouldn't surprise me if he's in the race to run interference and work with the pacers for Joe & Kieran.

Letsile Tobogo 44.75 PB in the 400. I’d like to see him run a couple more 400s this season with stiffer competition (granted he only won by 0.08 today).

Just missed the standard but takes the win. This kid is the real deal.
