Maybe a WR except by Gabby Thomas more likely. Gabby just blew by her the last 50 meters. In fact, the #1, #3, & #4 placers all ran their last 100m faster than Shari did.
No. Those that "hate" on her do so because she is capable of running historically fast times, but: 1) doesn't in moments that truly matter (see the 200m final last night) and 2) despite her outstanding ability she has a pattern of petulant behavior.
It would be quite something to see her drop a 21.6x at Worlds with Jackson, Ta Lou, Gabby and SAFP. But, do you believe she will rise up in that moment on that stage, or is it more likely that she will shrink under the pressure? I hope for the sake of the competition that she gives us 10.6x/21.6x performances. Hate to see her become the woman's version of Asafa Powell.
