Much of the discussion surrounding the US women’s 800 this year has focused on who’s *not* running. That’s a shame because, even without Mu racing, the women’s 800 field is LOADED: more than a dozen sub-2 ladies competing for 3 spots on Team USA!
After the men’s 1500, I think this event has the most intrigue. We’ve got the vets who usually make teams (Ajeé Wilson + Raevyn Rogers) vs established pros trying to displace them (Allie Wilson, Sage Hurta-Klecker, Nia Akins, Olivia Baker, Samantha Watson) vs older vets looking to show they still have it (Charlene Lipsey, Kaela Edwards) vs the young phenoms (Michaela Rose, Roisin Willis, Juliette Whittaker, Sophia Gorriaran). My goodness!
Who do you think will make the team? In his typically excellent preview, Gault went with Wilson (Ajeé), Rogers, and Akins. I’m taking Wilson (Ajeé), Rogers, and Rose.
