Very good points here. Weed wastes time when we could be exercising, making a living, spending time with family, or helping somebody out. Lay off the wacky weed, be more productive.
Many folks believe cannabis to be a relatively harmless drug: it's next to impossible to overdose on it, and it doesn't seem to create physiological dependen...

That's silly. It's not like weed is mutually exclusive with any of those things. I do every one of the things you mentioned, and I hit the weed too. I'm not saying everyone should, but weed isn't going to stop you from doing anything you want to do. It might make you "too lazy" to do things you don't want to do. If I lay off, I do become a little more productive, but I also become a lot less patient with people and a lot more prone to conflict and I probably spend more time worrying about stupid stuff that I have no control over, which is the biggest waste of time of all.

But what if you don't care about humans and don't want to exercise, make a living, spend time with family or help someone out? Seems like a pretty good alternative.

this shrink would love methamphetamine! Makes you do everything fast. Constantly do stuff.
Just today I saw a guy out in the middle of a busy road, waving his arms around in complex patterns. He would never have the initiative without crank. These folks are in an entirely different mental dimension, controlling arcane cosmic powers and guiding our universe in ways we'll never comprehend.
it's a myth, man, weed is goooooood... not "addicting," it's just an herb bro, a sacrament for some... as good for kids-- at least teenager-- as for granny's cataracts. it's not like other durgs, like 'big pharma' man...
that's why there's 100,000 YouTube videos on quitting weed... they're trying to scare you!!!
The idea that smoking weed is healthier than smoking tobacco is basically stupid. Having grown up with a pothead father, it makes some people violent. It's not a good thing to smoke despite what all the addicts say. It's not as bad as alcohol but that's a different argument. Should be legal but let's not promote it as if it were good.

The productivity argument is almost always funded by business. Anything that keeps them from making money is bad. However weed is not medicine, it is a drug. Meaning it will alter the way you feel and think while using it, but it has no specific medical application. Alcohol has the same altering effect, as does cocaine or mushrooms
I've smoked for a very long time and I can say weed does have a negative effect. I see it in those around me too, even if they don't admit it.
You are not the same person when smoking regularly. Some might do the same stuff as before, but will be less motivated to do so or will enjoy these things less. All I can say - from my experience - is that life is way better and more enjoyable without it.
The best way to describe it is that you become a "shadow" of yourself. For some it's subtle, for others very clear.

You make a good point, but I’d argue that productivity goes far beyond making money in business. It extends to all sorts of areas.
