What happened in the 4x8 final? I thought Dordt would be a pretty heavy favorite and Oklahoma City ran away with it.
Silva happened.
Also what was up with every false start not getting a DQ. The Womens 60 had almost every heat get a false start yellow
Dordt not being able to run faster than 7:38 is more of what I’m wondering about?
Where did they fall off from Oklahoma City? I can’t see Silva being that much faster than Mauldin in an 800.
Does anyone have a link to results that works? The link on the naia website does not work.
Is Texas Wesleyan back in the 4x4 final now?
There’s going to be 2 heats of the 400 final and a 10 man final for the 1k due to a fall in the 1k and a violation in the 400.
Texas Wesleyan got DQd so doubt it.
Getting back in the 1k final because of all fall is pretty soft but this seems to be the meet of getting people second chances this year. The two kids getting in are going to get shot out the back anyways with those PRs
They were in contention to make the final before they fell. They were within the top 3-4 at the time of the fall and ahead of Perez who ended up making it to the final. Their PRs are also 2:28 and 2:30 (converted to 2:28).
It seemed like Avila was really struggling in the 4x8 final though, so maybe the fall ended in him being banged up.
Texas Wesleyan is listed in the finals start list for tomorrow for the 4x4 instead of Southeastern. Could just be an issue on the live results though.
Just looked and they have them out. At this rate who knows we seem to be making it up as it goes along
From what I’ve heard Cumberlands is going to stack the DMR final. Probably meaning it’ll be Trost-Chavers-Carpeggiani-Santorum.
Don’t understand the logic behind Santorum running a 2:23 and leading from the gun in the 1k. He could’ve probably qualified going much slower. Kind of wish someone could’ve pushed Santorum to a faster mile prelim. That first heat was an embarrassment of a sit and kick.
Trost and Carpeggiani looked pretty disappointing in their prelims today. It’ll be interesting to see how they fair in the finals.
The masters runner posted a video on his Strava showing he ran up on the guy in front of him and clipped his foot. He shouldn’t be in the final. He tripped himself.
Watch the video again, Garey is in lane one in first place, then Windelband tries to pass but cuts in without having more than step on Garey which causes him to trip.
Garey’s running almost full speed with 300m left he’s not going to slow for that. Windelband was also disqualified, so that pretty clearly shows that Garey wasn’t at fault.
I’ve seen people advance to the final for hitting the rail before, so this fall was for sure going to allow for some people to qualify.
Is the cumberlands coach (sowder) on tren?
He was getting passed by the field. Lucky to advance on the fall.
Do you have some issue with Garey? He was getting passed by one guy who was obviously having some trouble passing him, he couldn’t even get a couple steps ahead of him to move in.
He was in first place heading into the last lap. He obviously was going to be at least contending for a finals spot.
If you’re going to argue that either didn’t deserve to get in it was Avila, but he was still in the race at the time of the fall as well.
Still can’t get over Cumberlands’s performance in the 3k racewalk yesterday! 21 points in one event is insane. And what a finish from the guy with the Robert Deniro Taxi Driver mohawk, It was enough to give me the chills!!!
Hi Cole!
No, but you’re a fan boy. Guys were rolling around him and he looked beat. He was lucky to advance on the fall.
status on the juco transfer, Alej, at naia nationals??
