There have been two wavelight paced womens races so far in Lausanne - the 800 and the 3000SC and somehow the pacemakers have managed to botch both races. How?
In the 800, the PM was out waaayyyy too fast in the first 200m (a hidden killer in the 8) - not surprising the race was largely underwhelming despite the good conditions.
But that 3000SC takes the cake - what was she doing? After 400m she was 10 meters ahead of the blue band and after 800 was 15 meters ahead. Then by the time they were approaching 1200 the field was 2-3 meters behind the yellow band?! No surprise the finishing time was yet again underwhelming.
Pacemaking in womens events has never been good compared with the men, but wavelight should solve this. It's easy and there is no excuse and yet still, they can't get it right? Don't get it.
