Why does Sydney McLaughlin Look....

When she and everyone else was imagining 47.9 by now, it's got to be frustrating.

Do you think she should smile more?

Bad idea talking to any athlete right after a performances. Need to dump that along with giving flowers to winners they do not want them.

Sydney is great for the sport, she simply has that......it.

Don't put too much meaning on a person's expression. I know a guy that always looks pissed and angry, but he's not. In fact, he's one of the nicest guys I know. What's that old expression, "Don't judge a book by its cover?"

You can't deny that she's extremely beautiful.

Sydney is extremely anxious on race days. When she is interviewed on non-race days, she is much more relaxed.

You wanna get a real interview you wait until these athletes have some time, right after a race a bad idea.

The flowers thing is ridiculous. No one gives a sheet about that, why do they continue doing that?

Very good to great 400mH athletes are not like most college 400mH athletes. We cannot use a formula in order to assume 400m speed for the best 400mH athletes.

Reminder: Mike Phelps only earned one Olympic gold medal in an individual freestyle event. That was when he was about 20 years old. Sydney will continue to medal and possibly earn gold medals in 400mH and 4x400m relay. She has done very well, will do very well and will be considered a T&F all-time great regardless of 400m success.

That's an exaggeration. Many of us weren't imagining that. And based on the fact that Sydney's fastest 4x4 split was 47.9, I doubt she expected 47.9 from the blocks by now either. She's smarter than that.
