Would be a very disappointing regression for Tim if so. He ran tactically poor and still hit 3:29 closing in 27.1. He’s racing the 800 at Kenyan Champs currently.

He’s not in the race is he? He’s not on the start list.
I’m gonna wait until after Girma races 1500 in Ostrava on the 27th before I make Lausanne predictions, but my early feeling is that both Girma and Reynold Cheruiyot will be top 5.

My B, forgot he was promoted early on but probably smart to pull out, stay in Kenya and train/race until Trials. But yeah I agree on Girma/Reynold. Reynold looked extremely easy in his heat at Kenya Champs. My concern for him finishing top 5 is if he really goes for it but we’ll see.

And what indication exactly do you have for both of those to be top 5? I just have maybe... Maybe Cheriyout

The fact that in his 3 races this year Girma has run a 7:23.81i WR, won a 7:26.18 3k with the last 2k in 4:54.4, and broken the steeplechase WR by 1.4 seconds indicates he’s fairly fit and fast right now in my opinion.
Reynold Cheruiyot has won 3 of his 4 1500 races this year, only losing to Timothy. If he’d finished as close to Cheruiyot in Oslo as he did in LA he’d have clocked 3:29.63. He’s run 3:32.01, 3:32.01 and 3:31.60 in his last 3 races and I expect he’ll run considerably faster in a DL race that’s towed along by Jakob.

TAS 6th 3.59.47 but he will wear stilettos and a strap-on.
I’d rather see Spence do a video where he tries to go faster than Jakob’s 7:54 2-mile in roller skates. He might be able to do it with more Lt2 work and ear pricks from Ari
No idea what to expect from Wightman. A 3:31 puts him in an ok spot imo, but I think there’s a world where he surprises with 3:29. Girma could also run 3:28/3:29 and make me look foolish, I’m just expecting him to be more of a 3k/5k guy.
