The fastest mile ran in Crocs is 4 minutes 20 seconds. Today I'm attempting the challenge again. And this time I WILL break the record. #Crocs #CrocMile #The...
You typically run 3-4 seconds slower per lap for a mile in crocs vs spikes if you've run in crocs before. So this probably converts to 4:04-4:05 in a real race in spikes.

Lol at all the people freaking out in another thread because they saw he ran a 4:18 mile.
I’m not really a fan of any of these running influencers but a 4:18 in crocs is pretty cool I guess. Wearing baby clown shoes he ran a time that would completely obliterate most of the people who post here even when they were at their very best.
I should have gone for that when I was young. I was dog walking one time and for some reason decided to time myself in flip flops for 200m on the track. Did it in 32 seconds, probably not much slower than I'd do it in trainers at the time (in my late 40s). Maybe I could have run sub-4:15 in flip flops in my prime? Sub-4:15 in flip flops would be worth watching, sub-4 would be must watch.

He hasn’t pr’ed in four years in the 1500m/mile, u think it’s okay to have some trepidation about his future as a runner.
It seems like he’d rather do a pacer test dressed as Santa Claus, a half marathon dressed as mario, and a mile in crocs than try and beat his 1500m PR

I'm impressed. Did the dogs run 32 seconds too? I think you could have gone even faster over the mile if you did a 32 second 200m (with training - this was your first attempt - it would improve loads).

Nah, once dogs figure out you are at a track where they have seen you go around in circles, they aren't stupid and just hang out (unless they are puppies). 32 would not be impressive for a dog, many of which would be faster than any human. Yes, it was just a one attempt thing. I was curious if the flip flops would fly off, the pair I was wearing being pretty floppy. They didn't. I have tighter pairs of flip flops that would have been better suited. To be clear, I had no chance of running 4:15 on the track at that time. Would have had to go back 25 years in a time machine.

And how does this affect your life in any way? Leave the guy alone, high schoolers probably enjoy the content and he makes some quick dough. He’s not making the US team in the 1500 so why do you care that he’s not running it

because the icebergs are melting and the world is burning and instead of contributing to society, TAS is fueling the ADD problem of modern humanity with his punka$$ YouTube videos.
That's quite an extreme view. Are you helping the icebergs and the world? Maybe you are. I don't think TAS is really harming anyone.
Re flip flops. There's quite a variation. I have some with ultra-squish which would be difficult to sprint in. They'd be ok for a middle distance race though. You could try huaraches like the Tamahuara... I think they would be a lot faster as they can't come off feet.

If I dumped a single tray of icecubes into the ocean everyday that would be more beneficial to the world than how TAS is living his life
