In honor of Grant Fisher's past, After his insane 2022 -
3:35.53 1500m
7:28.48 3000m
12:53.73 indoor 5k
12:46.96 Outdoor 5k
13:01 Road 5k
26:33.84 10k
Didn't medal at World's, Only won 1 race outdoors (His 10,000m Time trial)
Now for 2023:
- Has yet to win a race
- placed 11th in Florence against a half-stacked field. He lost to Mo Ahmed (who is 32), Luis Grijalva (who he destroyed in Brussels last year), Joe Klecker/Woody Kincaid (He's not even the top american anymore), Yomif Kejelcha (Who he has beaten at the Olympics/World Champs). Mo Katir is justified. --- The Pace was set 12:59 at the 4600m lap. How could he not keep up with atleast a 56-57 second pace, we've seen him handle a much tougher pace. He dropped a 60.xx
- Yes he PR'd indoors in the 1500 with 3:34.99 but, Is a 4th Place finish worth celebrating? He still got beat by Yared Nuguse (Which I am NOT saying he could've, just saying he wasn't even the top american in the race)
- His 5th Place in Lieven 3000m (Yes, it was a World Record Race but he couldn't even keep up 7:30 pace after his 7:28.48 in Monaco six months earlier)
His only chance to medal was last year at World's. Because the 5k/10k (Mainly 5k) is absolutely stacked like a MF this year and likely next year. It seems obvious he can't keep up fast elite races when they matter. Next year, he'll likely fall out of relevance when other Americans join the scene next year and hit 12:50s as well. I was hoping he could've become a heavy hitter this year but, he's already showing signs of regression.
