What's the world coming to when it costs $600 million with no spectacular media technology.

Hungary is spectacularly corrupt. Large parts of that money will have been siphoned off by cronies of Viktor Orban. They're absolutely pillaging the state over there
Was it definitely that expensive? Is it that outlandish? The figures seem to be all over the place. Some places say it was €600M, for sure.
and some say it was a little less:
But I don't know if I trust those figures listed as at least for Emirates it seems wrong... (although I imagine they adjusted it up for the current time - they should have said so).
Are the Hungarian government fudging the figures?
Baku is listed as €558M elsewhere! Emirates is listed as €456M. Ooh that's naughty if they are falsifying figures... but is it just that they adjusted them to the year?
LOL! Please tell us again how Oregon22 sucked because of a small capacity venue with loads of temp seats to meet World Athletics standards. But Budapest is a bigger city with an international airport so it's different this time, right?
I don't think Eugene was crap. At all.
But I don't like your argument because 25,000 total seats is different to 67,000 seats.
Try the rumored $8 Billion for tricked out So Fi with Samsung Double Oval Wrap-around LED board, Metaverse, and soon NEC personal Floating Holograms. Stan Kronke won't reveal the actual cost. Plus next door the NFL Media Laboratories is another $2 Billion.
$600M is alot to ask people in a fascist dictatorship to bear for a status symbol fir Victor Orban. Plus most end up as White Elephants like Montreal, Atlanta, Rio, etc. Only L.A. had a 100 year history every day use and still today uses each venue it built for the 1984 Games.
$600 mill is $6 bill in a developing country in the Eastern Bloc.
The US hasn't had a major T&F venue construction since the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. A few little, ordinary venues build by alumni groups have appeared on colleges but that's all. Why is that?
It's not a developing country and it wasn't in the Eastern bloc!
"Hungary is an OECD high-income mixed economy with very high human development index and skilled labour force with the 16th lowest income inequality in the world. It is the 9th most complex economy according to the Economic Complexity Index. The economy is the 57th-largest in the world (out of 188 countries measured by IMF) with $265.037 billion output and ranks 49th in the world in terms of GDP per capita measured by purchasing power parity. Hungary is an export-oriented market economy with a heavy emphasis on foreign trade, thus the country is the 36th largest export economy in the world."
But it has a lot of problems.

This appears to also be a soccer stadium, so it will get plenty of use. What are they using the LA Colloseum for on a daily basis?

No one cares enough about track to do it.
Hungarians are proud and boastful of Atilla The Hun. Who in 200 AD conquered Western Europe. He brought his armies from Xiongnu, north of China. They chose to cross the treacherous mountain passes of Central Europe rather than cross over flat Siberia, available only 3 months out of the year,

Yes. This is the mini Berlin Olympics.

The Hungarians are Magyars not Huns.
i loved worlds at Eugene. Was a little small but had good energy. And anyone who says otherwise likes to watch their significant other have sexual relations with other people

Populist governments will always exploit and steal from the gullible population who will vote for them no matter what. Looks at Turks reelecting Erdogan despite the value of the Lira being absolutely destroyed and the earthquake debacle.
Wow. That's oddly specific!! Lol.
