Sounds like no big deal for someone that has run 4:06 or about that pace in DMRs, right?
Wrong, because she was the rabbit today and in those other races had someone/s else to draft behind
4:10 solo the whole way is akin to 4:06 being towed the whole way
Athletes like KT so used to winning often have trouble bouncing back quickly from defeat, but that doesn't mean she's soft psychologically either, it's just human nature
I don't think that's it. Tuohy didn't look very good in the 1500. Something's wrong. I think she made the right decision to not run the 5k.
Nothing is wrong with her physically
She went through 1100 in 3:03.95 or 4:10 pace

Except for her ACC 1500m last year she front run from the gun to 4.06point
KT never had a shot in the 1500. She tried to break the kickers but she just lacks the speed to compete in the 1500. She tried the only strategy that could work for her. I wonder if she doesn’t run well in the heat. I give credit for trying something different.
Please stop making excuses. She holds the NCAA mile record with 4:24.26 ran in 1/23

Just not true.
She did not have any rabbits in the dmrs and set her ourdoor pr running wire to wire from the front in 3:03 at the bell. Tuohy has a lot of experience front running and she's run 4:06 pace multiple times. In the dmr she went through 800m in 2:11.

very true, but that was 13 months ago at a race she knew she was going to win, and she got to sleep in her own bed the night before with no travel necessary. and the temps were cooler.

I do think Mia Barnett would have had a great night if she wouldn’t have been tripped that first 100 in prelims. 3:04 at 1100 is quiet comfortable for her.

I don't know why you're looking for excuses. Obviously heat a factor, but certainly the same if not more for Oregon and Harvard. Road meet, travel, bed, lack of a rabbit, fitness and win certainty all non factors.
She was sure she was going to win and she is the most comfortable front runner of all time.
So what happened - just a classic case of too fast 1st 100, 1st 200, 1st 400 probably to avoid the bumpy ride she had in the semi. She paid for this in last 200, it happens. Note the winner Ramsden pulled a Dave Wottle - last at halfway on to victory. Congrats to Ramsden on a good strategy, pr and win.
KT really didn't miss by much, led wire to wire for 1410m lol, she'll get 'em next time.

Had Barnett been in the race Tuohy wouldn't have had to do what she did... it's hard to lead wire to wire... especially in those conditions.
