Nice run. Hassan was challenged until the last lap by Nawowuna, but Hassan closed in 60 and that was that. Still at the end Hassan looked tired. She worked today, and it’s only 6 weeks after London. Let’s see if she can come back tomorrow and run something like a 3:57. What double or triple or quadruple (?!?) will she try in Budapest? She can’t beat Kipyegon at 1500, so does that mean she drops the 1500? It’s going to be so interesting to learn what she decides to race at the wc.

She most definitely could beat kipyegon at 1,500m, she has the talent.
However, it is highly unlikely to happen because Hassan seems more interested in being an all-rounder.
Kipyegon who just ran 3:49 yesterday? No, that ship has sailed. Even if Hassan ONLY ran the 1500 I don’t think she can beat Faith any longer. Certainly, the Hassan who just won the London marathon, no chance. Yes, a silver medal would be very possible, but gold is impossible for anybody on the planet now other than Kipyegon if she is healthy in August and doesn’t get tripped.
Depending on the schedule, I agree ....not sure she will win either but she could, but a medal in each race is there for the taking.
She could opt for the shorter option in the 1500M, but I do not see her beating Kipyegon at this point. After watching yesterdays race it looks like Kipyegon could go 3:48......
17:26 5000pr last year in Nairobi 15:27 5000pr last month in Nairobi
29:57 10000pr in this race
she's either gonna be a world-beater soon or sanctioned
Age 19. A lot can happen when you are young and untrained. Perhaps low-key races were not recorded. To compare, Faith Kipyegon at 19, was a sub-4 1500m athlete. I'd give youngsters the benefit of doubt.

i certainly give grace the benefit of the doubt
she has incredibly fluid mechanics and looks like she's just starting to get some opportunities outside of nairobi/altitude
any relation to Alice Nawowuna, whose 10000 PB is 29:53?

In this world, I agree with you. In a different world, if Hassan and Kipyegon both committed to lowering the 1500 record, phew... that'd be special.
