tears IT Band a week ago (normally a 6 week recovery)
a week later decides to run in Hoka Festival of Miles wearing leg band, hoping he can somehow limp to a sub-4 minute mile
runs 1 lap, predictably grabs his leg and stops, realizing that wearing a leg band around a torn IT band is the equivalent to putting a bandaid around a broken leg.
Makes me question whether it was really a tear, because it would be pretty reckless to run with that. Maybe more like a strain. Also it's really hard to tear your IT band.

That's what I thought of when I read his exclamation of "tearing" his IT Band. He doesn't have a clue! ... He probably has ITBS but thinks that means it's actually "torn"
