Decent size city, safe, they have all the facilities, plus don't have to deal with snow, ice, tornadoes.

just a little heat in July/August that is all
And multiple athletes will die of heat stroke. brilliant idea!!
"What the hell is Phoenix? Wait, it's a city? Where?"
It's a desert not a city.
Americans won't show up.
You should be permanently relocated to Phoenix.
How about Hinckley for the Olympics. Closer to Las Vegas where we can go partying before and after.
You ever race in Phoenix in July? The one time I was there for a race it was 108. Not ideal. But at least it is a dry heat. Better than Baton Rouge.
I got stuck overnight in Phoenix during the summer once when I missed a flight connection. Got an early morning flight the next day and left my hotel room when it was still dark to get in a short run beforehand. I opened the door of my hotel and was hit by a blast furnace. It was about 90 degrees at 4:30 am. I made it maybe 4 miles easy before giving up. Summer Olympics? I don't think so.
permanently relocated to Greece.
“Nice to be back here in Tempe, where I believe a baby’s first words are ‘But it’s a dry heat.’”
Based
An afternoon marathon at the Phoenix Oly Games would be pretty epic.
Yeah. Great idea. We need to never allow a repeat of all the snowstorms that plagued the games in Tokyo, Rio, Beijing, Athens, and Barcelona. All the ice in the summer months gets annoying. We should definitely permanently move the Olympics to be held in the mild summer of Phoenix.
As an idea, it really isn't any dumber than having Worlds in Doha.
0/10, but bonus points for humor.
Goda*mn, please shut up, you let’s runners never fail to make my day by saying the dumbest shi*t ever
My mate, an Australian who was coaching javelin in the US, had a gun drawn on him in Phoenix.

This makes me proud of the 21.1 km (13.1 mi) long run our group just did on Friday. Coincidentally, we started at 4:36 AM and it was already 37 deg C (98.6 F).
Summer sucks where I live.
