I think Maddie Boreman is the future of the event in the US. She was immediately at the top of the NCAA as a freshman before getting bogged down with injuries for most of her NCAA career, but now has a few solid years of health under her and her 9:22 this weekend looked reeeally easy (~69 last lap to finish without anyone in spitting distance). She will def be in the 9:10-9:15 range by end of summer and I wouldn't be surprised to see her scaring 9 in a year or 2
